How to set up the Ai and use it on the web
This document is designed to explain how to set up communication with the Ai over the internet.
The Ai needs to be running on a Windows computer that has an internet connection. The program AiServer also needs to be running on the same machine.
If you have a firewall this may stop communication, it should give you the option to allow the programs to communicate over the network.
The following settings are set up in uploads after 22-05-2014 so you might not need to make any changes.
AiServer
Set the following fields then restart the AiServer program for the changes to take effect
Local ip: 0.0.0.0
This could be any ip number assigned to the machine. 0.0.0.0 means all ip numbers will be routed to the server.
Local port: 80
The normal port used by a web server is port 80.
Server id: server
This can be any name you want to give the server a unique identity, useful if you want to run multiple servers.
Window name: Any Name - AiV016e
This is the window name of the Ai running on the machine.
To set up the Ai to work with the server do the following:
In the Brain Database go to cell 918 this cell controls window messages.
Set the following fields thus:
File field: server - AiServerV009
This is the same name that appears at the top of the server window.
Field 11: o-o
This tells the server what to do with the incoming message.
After making the changes press the UPDATE button to write the changes to the database.
Now open the settings dialog box and tick the Send msg to window and Receive window msg
Press UPDATE or OK
To access the Ai open a browser program and type in the name of the machine the Ai is running on. You should get the index page.
